Kathleen Edwards - Back To Me

It's either getting harder for me to discover good new music these days, or I've just forgotten how to find it. Others might argue that there's less of it to find now, but that can't be true. I've been listening to Regina Spektor, and she's interesting, but not great. Kathleen Edwards, however, is great. It's the kind of rare album that completely works, without a single bad track. Looking over the ratings I've given it in iTunes, its average is higher than Rachael Yamagata's. I don't even know who to compare her alt-country-folk-rock sound to. Her voice calls to mind Beth Orton now and then (with the waver, even), and Kathryn Williams. Perhaps she is like a female Ryan Adams. The album is Back To Me, she's Canadian, and it's worth checking out. 11 songs, 49 minutes. Amazon.com link
