My dilemma for today is whether or not to buy a timbuk2 messenger bag, and if yes, what size (small or medium?) and what color scheme? God they look all handy and useful. I want to lead a life filled with usefulness, and the effortless, handsfree carrying around of heavy objects. Do I get a Metro? But it's really a poor excuse for one of their famous messenger bags. So maybe I'll get this one, in beautiful brown and gold, just like the Adidas Samba II shoes I wanted but couldn't get in my size. Fine. Do I add a handle for USD$10? “WHAT??!”, I hear you asking. Yeah, I know. As for size, it makes all the difference. A Small one would be enough to carry all my daily things (camera, phone, wallet, iPods, cards, shades, Game Boy, notepads, a book, and maybe even a bottle of water, for the first time in my life), but not my 14“ iBook. It would fit in the Medium bag, but then I'd have too much empty space everytime I decided not to bring the iBook out. Why, oh why didn't I get a 12”?? So that is my problem. In addition to the fact that EU shipping takes 3 weeks (other international orders are 5 days), and subject to 18% tax. That's nearly SGD$200 to carry my shit around in style. WHY DO I WANT ONE SO BADLY? That is all.

this sounds like a dilemma i've been in: if you're going to spend that much money, you might as well consider all your other options.

i've found most of the bags at www.sfbags.com to be desirably and well engineered, and i will be shelling out the cash for one of these the moment i am able to. until then, a medium timberland messenger bag serves me well as i can't make up my mind between a backpack (gadget backpacks usually too ugly, for a girl of my size) and a slingpack (too much strain on shoulders).

these bags at http://www.tucano.it/ENG/html_esterno/index.htm seem not bad too. maybe the shipping will be cheaper from italy?

hiya,
i was considering a waterfield bag (especially after reading joi ito and company's high praise for them around flickr), but they and the tucano's are a little too smart for me at the moment. i'm experiencing a 2nd childhood of sorts, buying all the toys i never got to buy when i was busy spending all my allowance on CDs, and not dressing my age either, after spending most of my teenage years in everything but a pair of jeans. so those messenger bags are really more me at the moment. i'll save the waterfields for after 30 or when i get a really high-paying stuffy job, whichever comes first.
